Indian Bollywood Actress Rani Mukherjee has generally been famous for playing the glamorous diva or the girl next door in most of her movies. Rani Mukherjee has either acted in melodramas with oodles of glycerin oozing out of eyes or made us laugh till we cried.

Rani Mukherji as an abusive and smoking journalist in her new movie “No one Killed Jessica”. When she was asked about her role, Rani Mukherji candidly admitted that she has simply tried to copy what she has observed in her interactions with the media.

So, does that mean the modern day journalists are abusive and chain smokers? Realizing that she may be quoted on this later, Rani Mukherji quickly replied that she simply acted on her director, Raj Kumar Gupta’s instructions.

Rajkumar Gupta and asked him about it, he replied that the cigarette smoking and the abusive language is not shown as a derogatory thing but it has been done to show the character’s ‘tough’ attitude.

Rajkumar Gupta further elaborated that these days most people use abuses as a part of their normal language, so there is nothing unusual about it!

As the name suggests the movie is based on the model Jessica Lal’s murder. The model was acting as a bartender in a famous restaurant in Delhi. She was shot down by Manu Sharma, the son of a Haryana politician when she refused him a drink after the bar closed.

Rani Mukherji may just prove to be her come back ticket to Bollywood as she has not been seen in any movie for quite some time now. Her last movie ‘Dil Bole Hadippa” flopped big-time at the box office. So, let’s hope that this movie helps Rani to resurrect her career once again and we get to see more of her histrionics on screen!
